Suspect turns himself in
BUCKHANNON — Officials announced that a a Weirton man believed to be involved in a hit and run involving a 7-year-old on Kings Run Road in Hancock County turned himself in to the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday morning.
An arrest warrant was issued for Paul White of Weirton in regard to the incident, and police had been searching for him for more than a week.
White is currently waiting for arraignment, officials said.
Earlier this month, officers executed a search warrant at a Triadelphia residence where they believed White to be. Officers recovered the motorcycle believed to be involved in the hit and run, as well as its broken headlight, according to a press release from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said Tuesday the boy injured in the motorcycle incident is recovering.
In 2019, White was charged with a felony in Randolph County after allegedly breaking into the home of his ex-girlfriend on the Adolph Road in Mill Creek.
