Midland PSD project will receive $500K

CHARLESTON — Half a million dollars in state funding is headed to Randolph County to support a Midland Public Service District water tank project.

The project amount is among the $10 million in funding that the West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council announced for sewer and water projects around the state at its most recent meeting.

The council approved a $500,000 grant to the Midland PSD in Randolph County for two water storage tanks. This award, along with funds from the state Drinking Water Treatment Revolving Fund and other funding programs, will provide $1.7 million for this project.

The council also approved technical reviews and requests to pursue funding for an additional six sewer and water projects. The approval of these reviews and requests helps cities, municipalities and public service districts save taxpayer money and keep their projects moving.

Among the six projects is a source of water supply project for the town of Davis in Tucker County, which is estimated to cost $1.2 million.

The WV IJDC was created by the West Virginia Legislature in 1994 to serve as a funding clearinghouse for water and wastewater projects around the state.

Gov. Jim Justice serves as council chairman, with Senior Advisor Ann Urling serving as his designee.

The council will meet again on Aug. 7. For more information, visit wvinfrastructure.com.

Starting at $3.92/week.
