Craft show on tap this weekend
BEVERLY — With the holiday season fast approaching, this weekend shoppers will get their first crack to find something out of the ordinary to put under the Christmas tree.
The first of many Christmas Craft Shows in the area will take place on Saturday and Sunday at the Beverly Fire Department.
The Beverly event, which is sponsored by the Beverly Fire Department Auxiliary, will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and will feature food items for sale, including soups, hot dogs, and sandwiches.
“We always have the Beverly Christmas Craft Show on the first Saturday of November,” Joyce Harper, a volunteer with the event, told The Inter-Mountain. “I do all the food for it and we’ve been having this show for years, even before I started helping with the food. The food we do is really good and a lot of the time we have people come up just for that.”
Another volunteer with the Beverley Show, Lora Hedrick, said the vendor tables for Saturday’s event have been sold.
“All 40 of our tables have been rented out for this weekend’s show,” said Hedrick. “We usually sell out all of the tables and in the past we’ve had to turn people away who wanted to set up at the event. We get a big crowd every year for the Craft Show and I expect a lot of shoppers to come out again this year.”
With so many different handmade items for sale, Hedrick said shoppers won’t have a problem finding gifts for everyone on their list.
“We have a little bit of everything, even baked goods,” Hedrick said. “We have people that paint, sell wood crafts, freeze-dried items, and many, many more things. And a lot of it will be themed around Christmas, so if you want some stuff to decorate for the holidays, this weekend’s show is where you will find it.”
The upcoming Christmas Craft Show at the National Guard Armory is a two-day event and will run from 9 am. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1. More than 50 vendors have purchased tables for the event.
