Police: Body of missing woman found

ELKINS – State Police have announced that the body of a woman missing since last week was found Wednesday evening.
Gabrielle Allen, 64, was last seen walking south on Route 219 toward Beverly around 5 a.m. Sunday, March 15, captured on camera near Roy’s RV.
On Thursday morning, the West Virginia State Police released the following information:
“On Wednesday, March 25, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Mrs. Allen was found deceased by a private landowner tending to his property. The victim was found adjacent to US Route 219 on private property along an abandoned log road not far from initial search areas.
“Next of kin was notified.”
A resident of Vienna, Allen was visiting family in Elkins and may have been trying to return home, officials said.
Allen had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
