Warner: State voter turnout was 20.9%

CHARLESTON –  The official who oversees elections in West Virginia said just over one in five registered voters cast a ballot in this week's state Primary Election. West Virginia Secretary of State Kris Warner said a preliminary total of 250,755 registered voters cast ballots for the election. West Virginia has 1,198,933 registered voters, meaning the state Primary Election had a 20.91% voter turnout rate. Voter turnout rates were low across our region. Tucker elects three BOE members

PARSONS – Tucker County voters re-elected three Board of Education members this week. In Tuesday's Primary Election, incumbent BOE members Cathy Hebb, Teresa Samples Simmons and Kevin White were chosen by Tucker voters. Hebb was the top vote getter, with 660 votes, or 32% of the votes cast. Simmons was second with 614 votes, or 29.8%, and Kevin White, with 784, or 38%. In the Tucker County Commission, unopposed Republican Jon Bush received 368 votes.
