Grand jury to hear child sexual assault case
ELKINS — A grand jury will hear the case of a Beverly man accused of allegedly sexually assaulting two children over the span of two years. Jamey “Jay” Paul Kissel, 58, of Beverly, is charged with 12 counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual abuse, all felonies. Kissel was being held at the Tygart Regional Jail on a $75,000 cash-only bond that has since been posted. According to Magistrate Court documents, as a condition of Kissel’s bond, he must remain on home confinement. On Monday, Kissel waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Randolph County Magistrate Court. ...
Highmark program aims to help members earn GEDs
PARKERSBURG — The importance of employment and career on an individual's health and wellness, as well as the impact of a high school diploma on earning potential, is the focus of a program aimed at helping people earn their GEDs. Highmark Health Options West Virginia recently launched GEDWorks, an educational support program designed to help eligible members earn their General Educational Development credential at no cost.
