HAMBLETON — Junior Kadie Colebank scored 18 points and grabbed 27 rebounds to lead Class A, No. 7 Tucker County to a 53-45 win over Class AA, No. 2 Petersburg on Thursday night.

The Lady Mountain Lions roared out to a 16-9 lead after the opening quarter en route to constructing a 31-19 halftime lead.

The Lady Vikings cut the deficit to 39-31 after three quarters and both teams tallied eight points in the final frame..

“It was a good team win tonight,” Tucker County coach Dave Helmick. “We played with great energy, especially on the defensive side.”

Colebank also had six blocks and Jayden Kuhn nine points and three steals for the Lady Mountain Lions.

Braylee Corbin had 16 points, Kennedy Kaposy 13 and Mickala Taylor 11 for the Lady Vikings, who are now 14-4 and host Keyser on Tuesday.

Tucker County (15-5) travels to Class A, No. 1 Gilmer County on the same night.
