PARSONS — For the second straight season, Tucker County will play for a spot in the Class A state championship game.

The second-seeded Mountain Lions (12-0) of head coach A.J. Rapp entertain No. 3 Wahama (12-0) at 4 p.m. today at R.H. Armstrong Memorial Field at Class of 1984 Alumni Stadium.

The winner faces fourth-seed Cameron, which upset top-seed Tug Valley, 36-0, on Friday night, in the title game at noon Friday in Charleston.

Tucker County’s defense has been dominant in the postseason, posting shutouts in wins over East Hardy and Pendleton County.

A tougher challenge is in store, however, against a Wahama offense averaging nearly 50 points per game.

This will be the first-ever meeting between the schools in football.
