TV girls cruise past GBC in Classic play
SUMMERSVILLE — Tygarts Valley picked up its second win in the Summersville Winter Classic on Monday evening, claiming a 66-48 win over Greater Beckley Christian.
The Lady Bulldogs (4-2) were once again led in scoring by Sarah Defibaugh with 18 points and Emily Smith’s 17 — 11 coming in the final quarter to help TV pull away.
Both also scored in double-digits in Saturday’s win over Greenbrier West in Classic action.
Lilly Lanham also hit in double figures with 12 points off the bench, hitting a pair of 3-pointers in the second quarter as the Lady Bulldogs constructed a 28-19 halftime lead.
The advantage grew to 45-32 after three quarters.
Destyni Farrish had 14 points, Leah Adkins added 13 and Whitney Bibb netted 12 for the Lady Crusaders, who face Greenbrier West at 3:30 p.m. today in the Winter Classic.
Tygarts Valley (4-2) will return to the court at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at home against regional foe Pendleton County.
