BARBOUR COUNTY — Rookie Barbour County Sheriff Deputy K-9 Creed landed his first drug bust with his partner Deputy Christian Mayle, officials said.
According to a release from the Barbour County Sheriff’s Office, on May 30, Mayle and Creed were called to assist the West Virginia State Police during a traffic stop.
During the stop, Creed was deployed and gave an alert that led officers to find 28.26 grams of a crystal-like substance, having the same appearance as methamphetamine, several unused baggies and a set of scales, the release states.
Mayle and Creed completed their training on April 28 at K9 Working Dogs International.
Currently, Deputy Gunnar Kennedy is attending training with K-9 Rocko. Rocko is a veteran canine deputy and previously worked with Corporal Paul Gonzales.
