ELKINS — The 85th Mountain State Forest Festival’s Grand Feature Parade will kick off today at 1:30 p.m. in downtown Elkins.

The parade will feature 99 entries, ranging from floats to marching bands to politicians and local dignitaries.

State officials scheduled to take part in the parade include U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, state Attorney General Patrick Morrisey, state Agriculture Commissioner Kent Leonhardt and state Senator Bill Hamilton.

The Mountain State Forest Festival’s 85th Queen Silvia, Anna Ruf, will preside over the parade along with her Royal Court and Maids of Honor, Miriam Christine Fath and Sophia Ann Shoemaker.

Festival officials to be featured in the parade include 2023 MSFF Director General Jon Morgan and 2023 MSFF Board President Ben Shaffer, as well as a float bearing all the 2023 MSFF Assistant Directors.
