Advocates respond to rescission of transgender rule

CHARLESTON – After executive orders and decisions by the Supreme Court, the U.S. Department of Education has put back in place specific rules for biological girls and women that groups say will harm transgender girls and women.  In an announcement Monday, the Department of Education reestablished rules set in 2020 during the first term of President Donald Trump in federal Title IX, the 1972 law that prohibits discrimination in education based on sex, putting back in place biological definitions for sex.
