Cheryl Ann Fowler Canfield, 57, a former resident of the Sugarlands Community, Parsons, West Virginia, and more recently a resident of Elkins, West Virginia, departed this life Saturday, May 30, 2026, at her home. Death was unexpected. The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons, West Virginia, on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Eugenia M. Phillips, 90, a resident of Elkins, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026, in the Davis Medical Center. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until noon Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. At noon on Saturday, she will be moved to Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman, where a graveside service will be held. Pastor Ann Fretwell will officiate and interment will follow. John Thayer, 89, a resident of Mountain Memories Assisted Living & Retirement Center in Elkins, passed away Sunday evening, May 31, 2026, at the facility under the care of West Virginia Caring Hospice. He was born March 24, 1937, at Tioga, West Virginia, a son of the late William Getty Thayer and the late Masil Radcliff Thayer. He was twice married.
