Reader: Built-up stress needs to be released

In 1976, a movie came out by the name of “Network.” A movie about a broadcaster that learns that he may be let go from the TV station where he works. On one evening broadcast he expressed his frustrations. The last line of his rant was; “I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore!”  Do I hear a second on that emotion? These efforts were reflected by our politicians, educators, and business leaders successfully persuading LG, an international corporation, to bring their operations to West Virginia. Reader agrees with W.Va.’s rankings

In response to the editorial on families published in the Jan. 17 edition of The Inter-Mountain, I would like to share the following things on the rankings, which in my opinion were correct about West Virginia. 1. We lack reliable internet in all 55 counties, making it difficult for business, schools or even for state residents in their homes to look up something or pay a bill online. 2. We lack good roads to get younger residents in. Look how long it is taking to complete Corridor H. 3. Look at Belington and Philippi in Barbour County. Each issue brings memories for reader

Congratulations to the award-winning Inter-Mountain! A long-time dear friend recently got me a limited subscription and I am very pleased with your newspaper. Memories abound, as I began my broadcasting career at WDNE radio. I spent 1953 on the air there and later on radio and TV in my hometown of Huntington.
