Colts fall in ratings; Tucker now third

PARKERSBURG — Despite a lopsided win over Berkeley Spring last Friday, Philip Barbour fell two spots in the WVSSAC playoff ratings released on Tuesday afternoon.

The Colts, off to their first 5-0 start in school history, are now fifth in Class AA.

Roane County (6-0) is first, North Marion — coming off its first loss of the season at the hands of now No. 4 Fairmont Senior) — fell from first to second and Scott (6-0) is third.

The Colts face a stern test this Friday night at No. 11 East Fairmont (4-1).

North Marion, meanwhile, travels to Elkins on Thursday night for a Forest Festival encounter.

Tucker County (6-0) moved up a spot to third in Class A and visits No. 14 Moorefield on Friday night.

James Monroe and Williamstown are tied for first, Man is fourth and Montcalm fifth.

Cabell Midland took over the top spot in Class AAA after Morgantown dropped from first to sixth after falling to Wheeling Park.

Huntington is second, followed by Princeton, Parkersburg South and Spring Mills.

The top 16 teams in each class qualify for the state playoff set to begin in November.
