Top-ranked Tucker comes alive in third to best Pendleton

FRANKLIN — Four players landed in double figures as Class A, No. 1 Tucker County overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Pendleton County, 72-60, Tuesday night in Potomac Valley Conference action.

Ethan Roseanu fired in 20 points, including hitting four treys, Ashton Lycliter 18 points, Owen Knotts 14 points and Maddox Anderson 11 points for the Mountain Lions, who trailed 36-35 at the intermission before outscoring the Wildcats, 20-9, in the third quarter and 17-15 in the final canto.

Chase Owens netted 21 and Josiah Kimble 18 for Pendleton County, which is now 6-6.

Owens drilled six 3-pointers on the evening.

Tucker County has now won 10 straight games to improve to 12-2 on the season.

The Mountain Lions are scheduled to visit Southern (Md.) on Saturday and not return home again until Feb. 16 against Moorefield.

The Wildcats venture to Paw Paw this evening.
