EHS ‘As One’ meeting set Wednesday
ELKINS — The ‘As One’ brand of football in the community will be on display Wednesday as new Tiger head football coach Chad Ware will be hosting a community “As One, Football Vision” meeting on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Elkins High School, for everyone interested in the upcoming football seasons.
All parents, guardians, grandparents, families and players, of Elkins High School, Elkins Middle and the Elkins Youth Bengals team are highly encouraged to attend. The event is also open to the public.
Ware, who has organized the event, said, “I’m excited for the opportunity to share what has been going on with the program thus far, and what is on the horizon. The evening will be a great way for our community to come together and begin the process of working together, ‘As One’ because that is what it will take, a community wide effort to change.
“It is a change in the way we think, talk, act and do. I want to raise the expectations of our program, and the accountability level for everyone involved. The culture has already begun to change for the positive, and the community response has been humbling.
” We have everything we need, right here in our community to become successful, but we still have a long way to go, and we need everyone involved, doing his or her part,” Ware said. “By coming to the vision meeting, everyone will be able to see they play a vital role in the process of rebuilding this program.
“We’ve invited all the players and their families, as well as community leaders, first responders, school administration, alumni and fans alike to attend, you name it, no stone has been left unturned. If you have an interest in football in this community, and desire positive change, you are invited. Bring a friend, bring your family, just come out and be a part of the process.”
Ware concluded, “I’d like to thank Tiger Athletic Director Ross Ware as well as the rest of the EHS administration for allowing us to use EHS for the meeting. Their support has been fantastic.”
At the meeting, you’ll be able to hear from new head Elkins Middle School coach Richard Davy, Elkins Bengals Youth League Presiden, Owen Poe, as well as Lisa Severino, Booster President.
The coaching staff for all three teams will be introduced, and Severino will introduce the plans for the future of Tiger Stadium.
Refreshments will be provided to those in attendance.
