Wildcats pull away from Bulldogs with strong second half

FRANKLIN — Pendleton County pulled away in the second half to hand Tygarts Valley a 54-40 setback Wednesday night in a battle of regional foes. Chase Owens fired in 26 points for the Wildcats, who led 25-22 at halftime. The Bulldogs were then outscored, 14-10, in the third and 15-8 in the final frame. Shawnee St. to begin competition in MEC in 2026-27

BRIDGEPORT — The NCAA Division II Membership Committee accepted Shawnee State University into the expedited provisional membership process, as announced Tuesday. Shawnee State will begin competition in the Mountain East Conference during the 2026-27 academic year.
