Nutter fires in 33 to lift Tigers past Lewis

WESTON — Isaiah Nutter fired in a career-high 33 points and Elkins had four players land in double figures in an 83-67 win over Lewis County Friday night in Big 10 Conference play. Nutter hit five treys on the night. He was joined in double figures by Dreyton Boggs with 19, Landon Shreve with 15 and Bryson Gainer’s 12. ELKINS — Elkins dropped a 47-46 verdict to Lewis County Thursday night at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymnasium in Big 10 Conference play. The Lady Tigers jumped out to a 21-8 lead after one quarter and took a 30-23 advantage into halftime. DUNMORE — No. 7 Pocahontas County pulled away from No. 9 Tygarts Valley, 63-53, in a battle of Class A ranked teams and regional foes Thursday night. The Lady Bulldogs, who saw their six-game win streak end, trailed 51-42 after three quarters but cut the deficit to 55-53 on a basket by Nevaeh Cooper with just over 2 minutes remaining in regulation.
