(AP) — Bill Mazeroski, the Hall of Fame second baseman who won eight Gold Glove awards for his steady work in the field and the hearts of countless Pittsburgh Pirates fans for his historic walk-off home run in Game 7 of the 1960 World Series, has died at the age of 89. MORGANTOWN — Philip Barbour’s Isaiah Starks captured the Division II title in the 100-yard freestyle Thursday at the state meet being held at Peak Health Aquatic Center at Mylan Park. The senior finished in a time 50.61. Starks was also runner-up in the 50 freestyle with an effort of 22.73. ELKINS — A big second half propelled Fairmont Senior to a 51-44 Big 10 Conference win over Elkins Friday night at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymasium. The Tigers (4-13) took a 26-17 lead into the intermission but were outscored 18-9 in the third quarter and 16-9 in the fourth. MILL CREEK — Playing his first game at home since going over 1,000 points for his career earlier this week, Jacob Wamsley added to that total in a big way Friday night at Weber-Wamsley Court.
