SUMMERSVILLE — Postseason action begins today for area Little League 9-10-year-old and 11-12-year-old All-Stars. Elkins, Tygart Valley, Barbour County, Tucker County and Pocahontas County will compete in the District 8 tournaments being held in Summersville. B-U’s Marple named to Class AAAA all-state first team

SOUTH CHARLESTON — Buckhannon-Upshur’s Kynnedy Marple has been tabbed to the Class AAAA all-state first team as the utility player. Marple, who was also the Big 10 Conference Player of the Year, batted .510 with a 1.478 OPS. The junior hit 22 XBH (12 doubles), scored 42 runs and drove in 41 more. Marple was also the Lady Bucs’ top arm with a 15-5 record, 2.10 ERA, and 131 Ks. MORGANTOWN — The North Carolina outfielder caught the ball and put an end to the 2026 West Virginia baseball season. It wrapped up a historic and exciting season. It was a season that had it all. MORGANTOWN — West Virginia baseball’s Matthew Gravline threw down to third base to try to catch the North Carolina base runner. He had him dead, but Tyrus Hall didn’t catch the ball, sending it into the outfield, allowing a run.
