TENNERTON — Daren Daugherty of Buckhannon was recently selected by the USA National team coaches and staff to play defensive line in the Ohio USA National Team Middle School Bowl game held at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.

Daugherty will be a seventh grader this coming school year at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School. He plays line for head coach Dave Chipps’ Little Buccaneers.

While attending Academy Elementary School, Daugherty participated in the youth football program from 2014-17.

In 2017 and 2018, Daugherty was selected by coach Charles Conaway of Elkins for the all-star team and received the honor of playing in the West Virginia Showdown at the Greenbrier n in White Sulphur Springs.

Daugherty attends Full Gospel Church in Buckhannon and is the son of Karen Morris, Michael Daugherty and Brian Morris and the grandson of Richard and Linda Jones of Belington and Dennis and Marlen Daugherty of Philippi.

He is also the grandson of Susie Morris of Westerville, Ohio, and the great grandson of Peggy Daugherty of Philippi.
