City Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday (11/28-29) in observance of Thanksgiving.
If your garbage is usually picked up on MONDAYS or THURSDAYS, this schedule will change during Thanksgiving week.
Garbage normally picked up on MONDAYS will be picked up Sunday (11/24), starting at 6 a.m.
Garbage normally picked up on THURSDAYS will be picked up Wednesday (11/27), starting at 6 a.m.
There are no changes for customers whose trash is picked up on TUESDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, and FRIDAYS.
Utility bills & in city fire fees were mailed out Oct. 31 and are due November 19. First due fire fees were mailed out Nov. 15 and are due Dec. 4.
Utility payments, court payment plans, and issue citations can be made by mail, in-person, using our drop-off box, or by paying online. The drop-off box is in the parking lot behind City Hall located at 401 Davis Ave., Elkins, West Virginia, 26241.
When dropping off your payment, make sure to include the correct information. If information is missing, it may delay the processing of the payment.

The Sanitary Board, the Municipal Properties Committee, the Water Board, and City Council meet the week of November 18.
The Sanitary Board meets on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Items on the agenda include approval of sewer invoices; reimbursement for sewer damages at 1210 S. Davis Ave.; reimbursement for sewer damages at 929 S. Davis Ave.; Griffith & Associates PLCC Agreements: Rule 42-Sewer Rate Analysis/Study and Preliminary Project Planning and Sewer Class Cost of Service Study (CCOS); and personnel issue in the Wastewater Department.
The Municipal Properties Committee meets on Monday at 11 a.m. Items on the agenda include recommendation to proceed with GAI parking study and draft Adopt-a-Tree application.
The Water Board meets on Monday at 4 p.m. Items on the agenda include Water Board invoices and discussion of the Rule 42 Agreement.
City Council meets on Thursday at 7 p.m. The agenda may be adjusted through Tuesday. Items on the agenda include public hearing on and second reading of ordinance clarifying charter language concerning the duties and powers of the mayor; second reading of an ordinance clarifying city code concerning the duty and powers of the General Fund administrative officers; reappointment of Voras Haynes Jr. to the Board of Directors of the Housing Authority of the City of Elkins, which oversees the management of Gateway Apartments; and FY 2025 budget revisions.
