Petersburg girls garner victory over Pendleton

FRANKLIN — Class AA, No. 9 Petersburg held off a second-half push from Pendleton County to claim a 47-43 win over Friday night. The Lady Vikings led 34-20 at halftime but the Lady Wildcats had a 14-8 scoring edge in the third canto to cut the lead to 42-34 entering the final frame. Pendleton County outscored Petersburg, 9-5, in the final quarter. Miley Tingler led the Lady Vikings with 14 points. Jameigh Miller tossed in 15 and Susan Vincell added 12 to lead the hosts. BRIDGEPORT — Fairmont State University and the University of Charleston have been selected as the divisional favorites for the upcoming Mountain East Conference softball season, the league announced Thursday afternoon. MORGANTOWN — Former West Virginia defensive back and assistant coach Jahmile Addae is reportedly on the move again. The Miami Dolphins have reportedly hired Addae to be their cornerbacks coach for the 2026 season. Addae was with the Buffalo Bills last year. Addae was a four-year starter, two-time captain and two-time All-Big East defensive back for the Mountaineers from 2001-05 under Rich Rodriguez. MORGANTOWN — West Virginia men’s soccer’s star forward has officially signed a contract to play in Major League Soccer.
