MILL CREEK – Class A, No. 1 Notre Dame pulled away for a 62-40 win over Tygarts Valley Tuesday in Mason-Dixon Conference action.

Due to the weather, no junior varsity game was played and the varsity contest began at 5:45 p.m.

The Bulldogs got off to a good start as they carried a 12-11 advantage into the second frame.

The Irish held a 17-4 scoring edge in the second quarter, however, to build a 12-point cushion, at 28-16, at the intermission.

“They came out with a different type of press and gave us some problems,” TV coach Tom Wamsley said. “We really struggled in the second and third quarters with it.”

Notre Dame’s advantage increased to 47-25 after three quarters, and both teams bucketed 15 points in the final canto.

Logan George fired in 21 points to lead the Bulldogs, who are now 6-9.

Elijah Goodman and Nathan Helm each had 12 points for Notre Dame (13-2), while Gabe Zummo added 10.
