Summer kicks into high gear in Barbour

Hello from Barbour County!

The weather has been beautiful lately! I know I am enjoying it.

A food give-away in Barbour County takes place every Monday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. at the Junior Town Hall and every Tuesday and Friday from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. at the Golden Rule in Belington.

Ladies Night Out will take place on June 20 at Battlers Knob in Philippi. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. There is a charge for tickets. To reserve yours, contact Cheri at 304-613-7180 or Lisa at 304-591-2260. Ladies, treat yourself to a night of fun and relaxing.

There will be a catfish “catfishing” tournament at Teter Creek Lake beginning at 6 p.m. on June 21. There will be a cost for 2 poles, a smaller charge for each additional pole. Registration will begin at 5 p.m. under the pink canopy. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Rewards will be given out at 3 p.m. on June 22.

The city of Belington will be having their Sweet Treats Festival on June 22. Stop by for some games, a cake walk, face painting, music and more!

The Appalachian Thunder football team will take on the West Virginia Leviathan on June 29 at 3 p.m. at the Philippi field. Come on out and support the team and have a good time!

Southern Baptist Church of Philippi invites you to Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on June 29. Come out and learn about how God’s Word is a solid rock in a world of shifting sand.
