Union High School to host Coaching Education Classes

MT. STORM — The West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission is conducting Coaching Education Classes at Union High School on March 23 from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The instructor will be current Union High School athletic director/coach Jamie Tallman. Those individuals that are not otherwise qualified by the West Virginia Department of Education and wish to coach any sport at the high school or middle school level in West Virginia are required to take these classes. Former WVU quarterback Geno Smith released by Raiders

Former West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith will be looking for a new home for the 2026 season. Smith is expected to be released by the Las Vegas Raiders, barring a trade. The Raiders released Smith to make $8 million in salary cap space and are taking on $18.5 million in dead cap. Smith was only with the Raiders for a season. Last offseason, Smith was traded from the Seattle Seahawks for a third-round pick, reuniting him with his former head coach, Pete Carroll.
